Stress, we all experience it sometimes. However, when we are exposed to it for too long and too much, our system can get overwhelmed. We can no longer get out of fight or flight mode. We can no longer relax.
This can lead to an variety of problems that are often underestimated. These include: brain fog, severe headaches, palpitations, hyperventilation, sleeping problems and neck problems, stomach and intestinal problems. In addition, emotions are often poorly regulated, which gives us the feeling of losing control. Prolonged stress can also lead to depression.
As a psychologist specializing in stress, I can help you with these problems. Together we look for the source of the stress, such as negative patterns and self-image. We will work on the complaints that can be removed and learn to accept the other complaints for as long as they are still present. Remember that it is always temporary, even if it feels like forever. It will pass!
I work with the Acceptance and Commitment method. You learn to accept the aspects that you can not change and work on gaining more resilience through a stronger self-image and acting from conviction. I will also teach you ways to relax through mindfulness and work on negative thoughts with cognitive behavioral techniques.
